Aghhhh I had Verithins too. I bought them because I didn't know they were different from normal color pencils. They're so... so hard. I don't know. It's like you have to press really hard to get some color out of them. But I actually bought a small pack of Prang pencils afterward which were really nice to work with.
I've never used Prang pencils, would you recommend them over Prismas?

I wonder if I'll even need them in college. I think it depends on what type of picture you're trying to complete which pencils to use I guess.
Sometimes having all that waxy wholesome goodness of build-up makes a picture look rich and polished, but at other times you want some softer and more subtle, and I think that's what your style is most like, which may be a good reason to stick with the pencils you use right now.
